Using Mobile Phones in Public

When do you use email?

Kindle - the Genius Book Killer

If people stop using libraries and start reading e-books instead there are many things that the libraries can do in order to stay updated. There will always be demand for a physical copy of a book so they do not need to get rid of these. However they need to expand what they are offering.

Libraries could release and app that allows users to enter their library card number and allow them to take out books instead of paying for them. Then they can change the book they have just read for a new book. By doing this they still have physical books for people to take out but are also still up to date in technology allowing people to take out books on their e-reading devices.

Libraries could do a different, more expensive, idea that means instead of only giving e-books to the people with capable devices they could have their own e-reader that are cheaply made and available to rent out. However this is probably a bad idea and would be better if they kept these inside the library.

4G in the UK

4G will allow users to do things faster than what speeds they are already getting. Because of these fast speeds you will have to pay more for your mobile phone land rental contract(over £40+ and cost of phone) and have a mobile phone that is capable of running 4G, which is very few in the UK at the moment. Currently there is only one provider of 4G in the UK at the moment. EE is a new company formed after the combination of T-Mobile and Orange. Now people who were on these networks will be moved to EE 3G and have the ability to get 4G if they feel the need to get it.
I don't think 4G will be as popular as the company would like it to be. People may not want to pay extra just for the faster speeds and think that what they are getting now is good enough. Also with the growing number of BT hot spots across the country people can connect to a free and fast wifi network wherever they are.

Use a Simulation

NetFrog Website

When visiting the NetFrog website for the first time I was slightly disappointed with the appearance that it had. It looked like it hadn't been touched since the website was first launched in 2002 which is a disappointment as with some work on the appearance it could be a much better website.

However the purpose of this website is to be able to dissect a frog online with added information which it does very well. This website would be a great starting point for someone who wants to dissect their first frog with all of the in-depth information it provides it would allow them to go into their real dissection knowing exactly what to do in the right order. Also this website is useful to students who may be slightly squeamish and do not want to dissect a real life frog and instead go for a lighter experience whilst still getting the most out of their experience. Online simulations are a great idea. They may not give the same feelings that dissecting would give In real life however some dissections may cost a lot of money to do and with websites like these it makes it a lot safer and cheaper to do.
